Delaware --- Experience State

Delaware rocks my socks off!

But, before I get there, I wanted to touch base on the rest of December. We spent a great deal of time developing workshops and speeches. We practiced, worked, practiced, worked, and you get the point. Well worth it though!

We then had an awesome week-long break for Christmas. It was so great to spend Christmas with my family.

Upon returning to Indy, we got to celebrate New Years Eve there. We enjoyed a great night of Italian Food, Ice Skating, and movie watching. See pictures below!

January quickly rolled around and off to Delaware the six of us went! We visited with a whole bunch of schools in the state. One of the cool things about Delaware is that from Dover (which is right in the middle) you can get to any part of the state in about an hour or less. That meant that we got to see every part of the state.

Some of my favorite places were Rehoboth Beach - this Colorado kid got to play in the Atlantic Ocean! Woodbridge FFA chapter was really cool too!

Justin Bailey, Delaware State President is from Woodbridge. They have a brand new barn facility, and to put it lightly, their wood shop is producing some incredible projects! Not to mention, they cook a mean breakfast-including scrapple...yummy!

Poly Tech High School has some incredible students too! We had some of the best chocolate chip cookies that I have ever had there. Mrs. W and her students are all amazing!

One of my other favorite visits was at Milford FFA. They have A WHOLE BUNCH OF ANIMALS there. Sean even had a python named Betsy. Trust me folks, I hate pythons, but I took the chance to stand still long enough next to Betsy, Sean and Zach to take a picture (see below).

Overall, the week was awesome. We even got to hang out with state officers from Delaware, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey and Maryland for a day!

The whole trip was hosted by Mr. Cole, Executive Secretary of Delaware FFA Association and the state officers: Justin Bailey, Sara Busker and Amanda Urian. We also got to hang out with some of the county reps: Samantha, Laura, Lindsay and Brittany.

We even got to eat lunch with the Governor Ruth Ann Minner at the Governor's Mansion too!

When it comes down to it, we had an awesome trip! Loved every minute of it!
